The “castellum lenciburg” is first mentioned in a document dated 1077. In 1986 the castle was carefully renovated and finally opened to the public. Today, it offers a wide range of events and and is a museum of medieval history, knighthood and culture.

The double house that houses the museum is built on a plot of land belonging to the Bellelay Abbey. The house was built at the beginning of the 16th century. The museum presents the living environment of two peasant families from previous centuries.

The Villa Munzach Society supports the heritage of one of the most splendid Roman villa’s in Switzerland. The Villa was built early first centurt AD and in the course of the next two centuries the villa complex became one of the biggest of today’s Switzerland. The site is open to the public.
