Thun Castle (Schloss Thun) was built by Berchtold V, Duke of Zähringen (1160 – 1218) in 1200. The history of the region and current topics are shown on the five floors and in the special exhibition room.
The large panorama of Thun was painted between 1809 and 1814 by Marquard Wocher (1760-1830).
