Museums and art galleries

The Center of Contemporary Art organises contemporary art exhibitions and launches thematic publications.

The castle (15th century) is home to an archaeological museum with finds that go back 6 500 years.

The Castle of Montebello dates back to the XIII-XV Century and there are archaeological findings from various tombs from the Bronze, Iron, Roman and High Middle Ages on show. There are also ceramic objects (IV-I century BC.), and 15th century works by local artists and drawings mainly from the 18th century.  

The famous hall Emma Poglia can be visited in the fifteenth century old castle. Temporary exhibitions on historical themes and art are being organised as well.    

The museum tells the story of Belp and its castle.

The museum includes objects and information related to the historical development, the inhabitants, the church, crafts and agriculture, weaving, geology and flora and fauna.    

The museum presents the way of life, culture and history of the region.  

The museum shows the history of the Stone and Bronze Age, the Romans, the Alemanni and the Middle Ages to modern times.  

The house is the birth-, work- and living place of the painter Adolf Dietrich (1877-1957).

The museum focuses on the local history.
