Museums and art galleries

The museum deals with the history, viticulture, professions and customs of the village.  

Waldegg castle was built between 1682 and 1686. The castles’ museum presents the history of Solothurn and the relation with France. The castle also shows the interior from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

The farmer’s museum “Althuus”. Most of the living and working areas are furnished in the way the peasant family used them at the time. Embedded in today’s village life, the museum provides a close-up view of the 300-year history and development of the region.

Numerous historical machines and vehicles from over 100 years of construction machine history are shown in the excavator museum.

The museum (Dorfmuseum) presents village life and history.    

Maestrani’s Chocolarium is a chocolate factory and at the same time a place to experience the production process of chocolate.  

The museum presents local history and culture.

The colourful history of Hotel Waldhaus Flims is a piece of tourism, architectural and art history. The Belle Époque Hotel Museum shows many artefacts that are related to the grande dames and lords of the Belle Époque and colourful figures from Graubünden’s history. The Yellow House (das Gelbe Haus) is a museum, exhibition space and conference venue for Alpine and international architecture, design, mediums and folk arts.  

150 historical and contemporary wooden masks can be seen in the museum and present the culture of the region.
