The collection includes more than 1 300 works from the beginning of modern art to the present.

The museum presents temporary monographic and thematic exhibitions of modern and contemporary painting and sculpture, drawings and photography.

The museum (Kunstmuseum) is also dedicated to Carl August Liner (1871–1946) und Carl Walter Liner (1914-1997). The collection shows their works and other art from the twentieth century and contemporary art.
