Regional Park Chasseral

The park (387 km 2) in the Jura Mountains is located in the cantons of Bern and Neuchâtel in the triangle of the cities of Neuchâtel, La Chaux-de-Fonds, and Biel/Bienne. Mount Chasseral (1606 meters) is the highest point and also the center of the park. The park has 21 villages of which 18 in the canton of Bern and 3 in the canton of Neuchâtel. The park consists of various landscape elements such as peat bogs, rocky cliffs, forests, and meadows. The villages and towns are characterized by agriculture and (watch) industry.  The park is also the (border) region where two cultures and languages overlap and meet: German and French-speaking Switzerland, industry and crafts, urban and rural communities.
