From the first half of the 19th century, mineral-rich water sources were exploited on the banks of the Inn and Limmat rivers in Ftan, Sent, Tarasp, Scuol and Baden.
It was an important tourist development until the Second World War. Afterwards, however, this industry fell into decline. However, the structures, knowledge and buildings remained.
The Association (Verein Pro Büvetta) aims at creating an international water centre in the Büvetta of Tarasp. The main themes are the sea, water sources, lakes and rivers.
The Büvetta is the setting for a permanent exhibition and the centre for dialogue and exchange of knowledge and experience between environmental organisations, research stations, education, the private sector and museums.
