The Swiss Landscape Fund

The Swiss Landscape Fund (Le Fonds Suisse pour le Paysage, FLS/Der Fonds Landschaft Schweiz) was established in 1991 to mark the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation.

The FLS provides financial support for the preservation and restoration of landscapes, natural and cultural monuments. This support promotes the willingness and ability of regional and local organisations and sponsors to be and remain active. It also creates synergy effects in agriculture, tourism, construction and local and traditional crafts.

The FLS provides employment support in economically weak regions through its contributions, which is desirable for the regional economy.
Financial assistance also has a multiplier effect. In many cases, they trigger multiple investments. Many projects serve as role models and encourage others to start a project as well.
