The aim of the Swiss life-saving organisation, Société Suisse de Sauvetage (SSS)/ die Schweizerische Lebensrettungs-Gesellschaft (SLRG), is to prevent drowning. Drowning can be prevented if people are aware of how to behave in, on and around water, if they take responsibility and act accordingly.

As a member organisation of the Swiss Red Cross and as a member of the International Lifesaving Federation, it is committed to preventing drowning across national and international borders.
