Toy Museum Welten

With a total of over 6000 exhibits, the museum (Spielzeug Welten Museum) is the largest of its kind in Europe. Doll’s houses and merchants’ shops are located on the lower floors. Whether noble toys or purposeless art products, all the exhibits have in common, however, careful execution, originality, ingenuity, beauty and an outstanding love of detail. The Museum is committed to this tradition of craftsmanship. While most of the exhibits date from the decades around the turn of the 20th century, contemporary miniatures and cases can also be found on the third floor. In addition, temporary exhibitions grant guest privileges to exceptional objects from other collections. Teddy bears and dolls populate the entire house. From the heyday of the doll manufacture between about 1870 and 1920, practically all well-known manufacturers are represented in the museum.
