The Watch Museum

The museum in the  Château des Monts  is the offspring of a collection begun in 1849. An exhibition dedicated to the technical evolution of watches from the Renaissance to the present day. The technical elements that allowed the evolution of the watch to attain its modern day precision are presented in 8 showcases in chronological order. The thematic exhibition deals with the comprehension and measurement of time. Presented in a modern setting, in separate and distinct chapters, it not only deals with the industry preoccupation of measuring time, but also with calendars and chronologies and non- mechanical time measurements such as hourglasses and sundials.
