The Glacier Museum

The museum (Gletschergarten) presents ice and glaciers, and many interesting facts about Central Switzerland during the Ice Age. 20 million years of earth’s history: From a subtropical palm beach to the glacier world of the ice age. The Glacier Garden features a beautiful and varied park and gardens with tall trees, a network of paths, and many different flowering plants of the late glacial and post glacial periods. Highlights are the Million Year Show, the oldest mountain relief in the world, created by Franz Ludwig Pfyffer in the 18th century, the interactive landscape relief of central Switzerland and the residence museum with furniture from the 16th -19th centuries.
