Grandson Castle not only towers majestically over Lake Neuchâtel, but was also the scene of battles that reshaped the map of Europe. The permanent exhibition guides visitors through 15 rooms and four floors – from the first medieval tower to today’s cultural heritage.

Far removed from a traditional display of artefacts, the exhibition focuses on presentation and experience. Its graphic style is inspired by the illustrated chronicles of Diebold Schilling, the famous 15th-century Bernese author, and makes the complexity of the Burgundian Wars accessible.
The museum displays ancient weapons and armour, crossbows, artillery pieces, and battle scenes; a Renaissance room; a regional and pile-dwelling museum; and galleries dedicated to the Burgundian Wars.
