The monastery Saint-Urban (Sankt Urbanus) was founded in 1194 and became an abbey by 1266. The Abbey became one of the leading Cistercian houses in Switzerland. Its baroque architecture, the choir and the splendid library are a museum by itself, including the sculptures in the garden.
