Museum of the Swiss Charters

The Museum (Bundesbriefmuseum) shows and explores both the history of the Old Swiss Confederacy and the many myths associated with that history. At the heart of the exhibition is the famed Federal Charter of 1291, which was long believed to be the founding document of the Swiss Confederation. Ein weiteres Thema in der Ausstellung des Bundesbriefmuseums sind die eidgenössischen Mythen. Woher kommt die Geschichte von Wilhelm Tell, den «bösen habsburgischen Vögten» oder dem Rütlischwur.
