The mill is one of the oldest buildings in the Merian Gardens (Merian Gärten) in Basel. The museum shows the impressive 16th-century mechanics of the mill, where wheat, spelt, and rye were once milled. The mill has been out of operation since 1980 and has since been furnished as a museum.
