The museum, housed in Villa Lindengut (1780), presents the history of Winterthur from the Romans until the modern time. The collection also includes medieval and baroque furniture, paintings, books, silversmithery and other works of art. The history of the city is told by a presentation of its habitants and economic, political, religious and cultural development.
