Celtic-Roman Museum

The Celtic-Roman museum (Kelten Römer museum) in Manching deals with one of the most important Celtic cities in Europe 2000 years ago.  The museum shows findings from over 100 years of archaeological excavations of the Celtic city on the Danube. The collections includes many artefacts and tools, treasures from the Mediterranean region, documenting the trade contacts of the Celts. In early Roman times, a military camp was built in the Manching area. Numerous objects tell of the story of the life of the soldiers on the border of the Roman Empire. There are also two unique, almost completely preserved military ships from the time of Emperor Trajan (98-117).
