The Wolfs Gorge in Naturepark Thal

The gorge (die Wolfsschlucht)is in the nature park Thal (Canton Solothurn). The impressive gorge shows the mighty forces of nature. The waters of the Wolfsbach stream have eroded the porous Jura rock for thousands of years. Although the stream nowadays only rarely carries water, its power traces are still visible.

Between high, partly overhanging rock faces, a path leads through the narrow, wildly romantic gorge with ridges up to one hundred meters high. In just under one and a half kilometres, there is a 300-metre difference in altitude, always accompanied by the Wolfsbach, which creates this impressive natural spectacle.
