The Swiss Castles Day Focuses on Craftmanship
30 September 2025
28 castles from twelve cantons and three language communities organise on Sunday, October 5th, a day around the theme of craftsmanship during the annual Journée des Châteaux Suisses. From medieval coin minting to glassblowing and 3D printing: craftsmen from the past and present showcase their skills in historical settings.
Each castle offers a program related to its history and local customs. Each period has produced specific professions, a journey through time from the Middle Ages to the 21st century and a great variety of craftsmen and objects.
Contemporary crafts are also highlighted. In one castle, a robot is even at work, while in another, the connections between wood carving and 3D printing are explained.
