10 December 2020
The new library platform Swisscovery was launched on 7 December.
The medium gives users access to the collections of 475 libraries in Switzerland, from St. Gallen to Geneva and from Basel to Lugano. All science-related libraries have joined the network.
The merger of 475 libraries is unique in the world.
Research becomes much easier with “swisscovery”. Every book and every other medium has a single entry in the same system.
The user can immediately see where a medium is available and have it delivered to your own library via the new courier service.
Swisscovery is managed by the Swiss Library Service Platform (SLSP).
Swisscovery was founded by 15 university libraries. To date, 475 other libraries have joined.
