Swiss Mountain Aid

For 25 years, “Bergversetzer” has been arranging voluntary work assignments in the mountain region. Thousands of hours have already been spent in the mountain areas as part of this joint project of Schweizer Berghilfe (Swiss Mountain Aid).

The focus is on the maintenance of natural and cultural landscapes and construction work for the maintenance or creation of new infrastructures. Numerous municipalities and private individuals in the mountain region have benefited from this aid in the last quarter of a century.

At the same time, it has enabled individuals and groups to become better acquainted with the challenges facing mountain areas and to support the local population. Swiss Mountain Aid is taking the anniversary as an opportunity to look back and pay tribute to its achievements.

The event will take place on 11 December at the Alpine Museum in Bern (on International Mountain Day or World Mountain Day, a day of remembrance introduced by the UN). (Source and further information:
