With the acquisition of the Tannenhof agricultural estate in Gampelen (Canton Bern), the Tannenhof association for released convicts and the unemployed was founded in 889. Swiss Foundation of Photography

The foundation (Schweizerische Stiftung für die Photographie) preserves, collects and presents mainly Swiss photography of the twentieth en twenty-first centuries. The foundation also organises exhibitions, issues publications on the history of photography.    

Fotosammlung Online

The project offers digital access to the photo’s of the Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron Cabinet (Kabinett) in Basel, including the Ruth and Peter Herzog collection. The online encyclopedia presents the early days of photography in 1839 to the 1970s, depicting motifs and themes from around the world.
