Wildegg Castle

The Castle was founded by the Habsburgers in the thirteenth century.  Between 1483 and 1912 the castle was the seat oft he Effinger dynasty. The castle was opened to the public as a branch of the Swiss National Museum in 1917. The museum shows the medieval, baroque and modern history of the castle, the family and Switzerland in their European context.
