Domus Antiqua Helvetica

The Association is dedicated to the preservation and awareness of historic residential buildings, from old town houses, to farms, chalets, castles, manors or other estates.

The Association has over 1,500 members and was founded in 1984 on a national level. Later on, cantonal and regional divisions were formed.

In order to achieve its objectives, Domus Antiqua Helvetica is involved in the cultural-political discourse and also participates in the (federal) consultation procedures.

The Association provides information about historic buildings and organises visits.

Domus Antiqua Helvetica publishes a magazine for its members every six months and, on occasion, a newsletter.

The Association cooperates with several national organisations and is a member of Europa Nostra (The Hague), and the European Historic Houses Association (Brussels).
