Christmas on the Julierpas
12 December 2019
On the program are Romansh and Scandinavian choral works for Christmas. The conductor is Clau Scherrer. There will also be a premiere: Gion Antoni Derung’s Opus 1: a suite of Romansh Christmas carols inspired by the song collection of the “Consolaziun dell’Olma devoziusa”. Following are works by Knut Nystedt, Edward Grieg and Toivo Kuula. They have the Northern European vocal tradition as a source of inspiration, as if they were made for the vast snow-covered landscape of the Julier Pass at an altitude of almost 2 500 metres (Source and further information: www.origen.ch).
