The foundation of Aquae Helveticae (Baden) by the Romans is mainly due to the establishment of the army camp in Vindonissa (Windisch) around 17 AD. The settlement became a large complex for bathing, almost two thousand years before the baths in Grisons. The museum in the monumental Landvogteischloss, on the banks of the Limmat, presents this history and other ancient and medieval artefacts. (Source, H.W.
